Richard Nelson is a late-middle-aged management consultant living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He’s in a long-term relationship and has a 33-year-old stepson, a 31-year-old daughter finishing her Ph.D. in forestry, and a 15-year-old stepgranddaughter. His principal hobby is training for Ironman triathlons, despite his lack of talent: he finished Ironman Florida in 2009 only seven minutes before the cut-off (q.v.i.). He is currently training for the inaugural Ironman Mont-Tremblant in August 2012.
As the name suggests, this blog started as Richard’s notes about his Ironman training, but has since expanded to cover all his butterfly-like interests.
